A catch-all email mailbox is one that collects all the messages sent to invalid addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody mistypes it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one single mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and thus you’ll never miss emails because the other party has an outdated email address or has made a spelling mistake. The disadvantage of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving plenty of spam email messages, but this problem can be solved using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also essential to know that a mailbox with an activated catch-all feature cannot redirect incoming messages to a third-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

In case you have a cloud hosting with our company and you’d like to activate the catch-all functionality for a given mailbox that you’ve got in the hosting account, it will take literally only one click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each email address that you have set up under any domain registered in the account. You can choose one single address per domain by clicking on the corresponding button. This will enable the feature immediately, so all emails sent to mistyped addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking the button once again will turn off the catch-all feature. In case you’ve got active email forwarding, our system will display a warning message and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature until you remove the forwarding or you can simply pick a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The in-house built Hepsia hosting Control Panel that is included with each semi-dedicated server plan that we offer will allow you to create a catch-all mailbox easily even in case you don’t have much email/web hosting experience. All you need to do to accomplish that is click the catch-all icon, which will be on the right side of each mailbox that you have created using your domains in the Email Manager section of the Control Panel. As you can have only one mailbox with this feature per domain name, our system will warn you if you have already created another catch-all mailbox or if the one that you want to use has email forwarding enabled. In case you reach the decision that you don’t want the feature anymore, you can turn it off by clicking once again on the exact same icon. The Email Manager section will also allow you to see your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
